I became an observant Jew in 1979 after years of soul searching and truth seeking. I never knew where the search would end
or even if it ever would or was even supposed to end.
The quest was one of ultimate importance and from what my young senses saw of the world around which I was sojourning,
my life could have been spent on quests of lesser importance.
One of the stories I had read during the early '70's was from the Zen tradition. It went like this: A monk and his master
went to bathe at a river. The monk asked the master when he would reach enlightenment. The master then grabbed his his and
proceeded to drown him. With a powerful effort the monk released his master's hold and gasped for breath. Then he asked what
the lesson was that he was meant to learn. The master asked him what the most important thing was to him while he was drowning.
The monk answered that it was air. To which the master replied that when his enlightenment becomes as important he will have
it!
I bring up this story because at this point in human history America, Israel, Iran, Syria and assorted other Islamic forces
are poised to begin the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. You have all heard various scenarios of domestic and overseas events.
I believe that Israelis and Americans need to take a lesson from this poignant little story.
God intends for mankind to be free. And this freedom does not mean freedom to manifest the egos which eclipse God's light
from our souls. For when we live this way, we are really slaves to our baser appetites and become the human animals which
the communists, atheists and liberals are training us to be. Sure we can vote and trade and study and reason and learn and
educate and marry and have families, but we are only playing with a handful of the cards in God's deck and we do suffer the
consequences - just look at history!
The freedom which our Creator holds out is freedom to be our utmost, freedom to become godlike beings. After all He made
us in His image. We are meant to be perfectly healthy and clear and strong minded, full of wisdom and understanding; noble
and powerful and invincible. We are intended to enjoy all the riches of the planet which our generous Creator made for our
pleasure. And we are intended to live eternally on this paradise we call the earth. We are intended to live fully, more than
anyone can yet imagine. This is not a pipe dream or a quixotic musing about a fountain of youth. This is the destiny prepared
for those who are ready to conquer their egos.
This is a tricky endeavor, but you can begin by watching your negative impulses closer than you watch the stock market
or that girl walking across the street. You have to watch what you think and feel too. And you have to compare your actions
with what you learn God would have you do.
For Jews this is very difficult because we have been trained to observe rabbinic laws which are claimed to be the actual
Torah. We have a written law and an oral law. In my three decades of researching Jewish holy scriptures and writings I cannot
state more definitely that the oral Torah is a mythology. I was very upset about this and it doesn't make me happy today.
I am considered a heretic although no rabbi or minister has ever been able to prove that I am wrong. I have always looked
for such religious disputations and have sincerely hoped someone could show me the error of me ways so I could rejoin my people
and practice Judaism without reservation. This was not to be my destiny.
In embracing the truth, I have come closer to our Creator. This is an awesome, wonderful, powerful and humbling state
of being. I can say unequivocally that I am not a heretic, but that the rabbinic authors of the Jewish religion are. The
Christian religions are also heresies, but they are not so neurotic and full of detail. And when you throw Islam into the
picture, all I can say with brevity is that it is simple to compare the Koran with the Bible to see which is historically
truthful. What I will give the fundamental Muslims is the respect they deserve for laying down their lives for who they believe
is their god. If Jews and Christians reclaimed this spirit of surrender to God, God would not need to employ them to destroy
our decadent civilization. And this brings me back to my purpose.
Today, right now, we have the greatest incentive package for voluntarily complying with God's written Torah. I believe
that you normal, ethical individuals who have inspired this website and also my yet to be published novel, A Twist of Faith,
would comply with God's simple Social Contract, the Torah. Unfortunately the Jewish people have made it appear illogical,
neurotic, compulsive, and generally unattractive and irrelevant. So I exhort you now because of the global events developing
around us, to read, discuss and question the content of this website.
If you want me to answer questions or give advice or stand up to scrutiny and entertain any disputation or give any personal
commentary; I am pleased to give you the benefit of 30 years of study and many a revelation which can help you on your path.
If any of you wants to challenge me; please do so, it is an honest and respectful way to learn and I look forward to such
sincere debates; this is how normal people learn and grow. But let's hurry up because if time is running out, as it appears
to be, we should make the most of each unforgiving moment to please our Creator. He can avert whatever doom He is preparing
if we comply voluntarily.
"For the children of Israel shall sit solitary many days without king, and without prince and without sacrifice,
and without pillar, and without ephod or teraphim; afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their
God, and David their king; and shall come trembling unto the Lord their God and to His goodness in the end of days. (Hosea
3:4,5)".
