JUDEAN STATECRAFT
The nation of Israel was born in an emergency room 65 years
ago. Since then the government of Israel has struggled to keep the Jewish nation alive. Endless wars and international campaigns to delegitimize her have kept the nation from taking its place
in the sun among the nations. Yet the people and their leaders try in vane to appease their enemies through territorial concessions
and political gymnastics.
No one leader has been able to succeed in bringing the State of Israel into the
world as a free nation enjoying unquestioned legitimacy and international respect. It is as if the pogroms and Holocaust have
simply morphed into a state oriented geopolitical attack on the Jewish people.
However, the so-called Jewish question,
as it was called for decades prior to the Holocaust is really not so much a problem of an unjust, anti-Jewish world as it
is a problem of Jewish leadership. The reason for this is that every Jewish leader and all of the parliamentary representatives
follow the principles of statecraft typical of the world’s nations. Not even the religious parliamentarians have an
insight into the nature of Judean statecraft as it must be practiced so that Israel can move out of the emergency room and
onto sure and solid bedrock as a free and independent nation enjoying full rights among the world’s nations.
Israel was designed - as indeed was the entire world - to operate on spiritual principles. Israel’s famous King David
understood this better than anyone when he went out to meet Goliath in battle. While King Saul and the entire Israelite army
were convinced of their weakness in the face of this Philistine giant, David understood that the God of Israel was with him
and that armed with that Spiritual help, he was invincible.
The leadership of the modern
state of Israel has always been and still remains convinced of their own weakness. Just as 10 of the 12 spies of the Exodus
who returned to report to the people waiting in the Sinai desert that they were as "grasshoppers" in the eyes of
their enemies; Israel’s leaders are convinced of their weakness. This is why no territorial or political concessions
will satisfy her enemies or friends. This is why not even the most noble fighting men in world history
win the honor which the IDF deserves. No matter what tactics the IDF employs to prevent civilian casualties, the world calls
her soldiers Nazis. Even when proof is presented to the United Nations that charges of brutality are completely unjustified,
the world rails on that Israel is some kind of Nazi monster.
The solution is very simple. God designed Israel
to live with Him. This means that His Covenant with the nation of Israel must be observed as He provided it and not as the
religious establishment misrepresented it. When the nation of Israel awakens to this truth a new reality will be born. First,
leadership will be selected from among the most deeply spiritual and faithful Judeans and not the politically savvy, secular
minded people or temporal religious groups. And secondly, this leadership and the nation as a whole will envision their nation
as her prophets envisioned it. The resulting Judean statecraft will be formed and executed with God as the nation’s
Leader. Israel’s statecraft will no longer be the product of spiritually crippled and faithless men whose world view
is a product of secular calculations and a desire to win the approval of a disapproving world.
In short,
Israel’s statecraft to date is born of a slave mentality. And although Israel was freed from Egypt over 3300 years ago,
the soul of the nation remains in 'Egypt'. The spiritual Passover has yet to occur. And when it does, the world will
enjoy the blessings of an Israel which will steer the entire world toward its Maker and His blessings.
